RocKids TV Brings Faith and Values to Saturday Morning Television

BURLINGTON, ON – Crossroads Christian Communications (Crossroads) has announced the exciting addition of RocKids TV, high-quality, faith-based children’s media content coming to television this fall on CTS every Saturday at 8 am.

Beginning September 22, families will enjoy RocKids TV, featuring cartoons and live performances from the award-winning cast of God Rocks!® and new content from Phil Vischer, creator of VeggieTales®. Great animation, songs, and fun segments include: The Parable Playhouse, Rocky Ridge Bandstand, The Wonder Blimp of Knowledge, Sweet Lambs, and more!

“Our viewers responded to the challenge of supporting more uplifting, biblically-centred children’s programs by donating to the Crossroads Kid Alert campaign last year,” says Don Simmonds, CEO of Crossroads and CTS. “As a result, we are pleased to have created this new children’s block that we pray will impact a child’s faith and values system for years to come.”

“Kids are sophisticated viewers these days,” says Bruce Stacey, Chief Content Officer for Crossroads and CTS. “RocKids TV features a wonderful variety of fun characters and stories that engage and entertain while communicating important values that families won’t find anywhere else on the dial.”

Children spend an average of 7.5 hours per day with various forms of media, and the average household consumes 58.5 hours of television per week. Children and youth are exposed to a secular media culture that largely promotes an atheistic worldview, often devoid of Christian values.

Crossroads is positioned to be a light in this troubling media landscape, and is committed to producing children’s programs on multiple platforms that are entertaining alternatives for families, rooted in Christian values as their foundation.
